Toon Zone posted a link to the trailer for The Corpse Bride. http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/corpse_bride/
It looks pretty awesome. I am hoping that this is anywhere near as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas or James and the Giant Peach (athough I doubt anything can top James). Tim Burton, however, seldom disapoints. What do you guys think?

Looks interesting, but I hope the slapstick moments in the promo (specifically, the hero slamming into a tree) are in there just to make the move seem less "dark".
I love the character designs!

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
The trailer has arrived. All Nightmare Before Christmas fans should be happy.

Well that was weird. So what did he do... did he kill his fiancee so he wouldn't have to marry her. Sort-of a Runaway Groom story? A grave Misunderstanding...and whats this about 2 brides. I'm not familiar with this movie at all. help...
Though I must say I like the casting.

That has some of the greatest looking animation I've seen in a long time. And as Conekiller said, it has awesome character designs. This movie seems to have that human-touch that The Nightmare Before Christmas was missing. It seems Tim Burton has good ties with Johnny Depp. First Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and now this? I wonder how long this movie has been in production. I remember on the commentary for Chicken Run they said it takes 4 hours to do each frame, I can't imagine how long it took to do each frame in this movie (despite being made in a different medium than Chicken Run).

Looks nice and picture-esque. I'm not entirely sure why they have English accents, I thought the original story was based in Russia.
I hate to compare it to the Nightmare Before Christmas, but from the trailer, I miss the exaggerated facial expressions.

I don't know why the "FULLSCREEN" link takes you to an iTunes download page, but this is cool stuff nonetheless. I can't really tell much from the trailer, but I'm sure this'll be good.

More like first Edward Scissorhands, and maybe before then too. And let's not forget Ed Wood and Sleepy Hollow (Depp was in that, right?).

You see the Full version THROUGH iTunes. I dont know if there will be a non iTunes version, but there ought to be.
This reminded me of Nightmare SO MUCH!
As for each frame, maybe you mean minute--- There are usually 24 frames a second (If memory serves) and I can't see a frame taking 4 hours to make.
Interesting design, and no doubt it will draw a lot of people in.

I'm not sure of the exact number but I'm pretty sure it was longer than an hour for each frame (between all the cleaning up and fine tuning of the clay). Maybe it was an average or something than included making the sets and all that other stuff. I'll see if I can get back to you on that, I haven't watched Chicken Run (let alone with commentary) in a long time.

Yeah, those are great character designs. The trailer itself isn't spectacular, but it sounds like a great premise. The Burton/Depp combination hasn't let me down yet, so color me interested.

Though Nightmare Before Christmas is a (very!) tough act to follow, Corpse Bride sounds like it might be a good one. Can't wait to see the trailer, as well as the movie.
Hmmm...a Russian fairy tale....Another story to ask the folks who do the weekly "Tell Me a Story" column to do.

The trailer strongly echoed two of Tim Burton's works; the stylized people reminded me of Vincent, but the Corpse Bride herself could be mistaken, on first glance, for The Nightmare Before Christmas' Sally! And the Skeleton Dog near the end? Gotta be Zero's cousin once removed.

Here is pretty much what this movie is about.
In a 19th-century European village, Victor (Depp) travels to the underworld for a quickie wedding to a mysterious corpse bride (Bonham Carter) while his living wife (Watson) pines for his return. A stop-motion animated film like the Burton-produced "The Nightmare Before Christmas".

I can't hardly wait...it's been a long time since we've had anything really unique and artistic hitting american theatres.
If it does well, maybe it'll act as a wake-up call to hollywood that yes, people are still interested in movies that aren't made entirely with computers. The animation is gorgeous - almost as perfectly fluid as CG but solid looking and more impressive for the work involved.

I am so glad to know this movie is being made. Last year, I became a huge fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas and I was thinking, if it were made today they'd probably use computers. I'm glad to see that Tim Burton still believes in older methods. I don't think CGI could have captured the stop-motion look of it. I'm really glad to see he's doing another stop-motion movie and I have so much faith that this movie will be just as cool as TNBC.

The movie is based on a Russian folktale, which you can read at the Tim Burton Collective website.
The animation in the trailer looked really good. Some of the characters had a strong resemblance to ones from The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is more likely due to the style they are animating in than anything else. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out; they've picked an appropriate release date (Halloween)!
